Home Boarding

About

Home Boarding 🐾

Home boarding provides your dog with a safe, comfortable and home-from-home experienceĀ while you’re away. We carefully select and support our home boarders to ensure your dog receives consistent care, structure and attention in a calm home environment.

What is home boarding?

Home boarding means your dog stays in a licensed, insured homeĀ rather than a kennel environment. Dogs live as part of the household, enjoying regular walks, companionship and a familiar routine wherever possible.

What to expect during your dog’s stay

  • Dogs are cared for in a home setting, with access to comfortable resting areas and appropriate enrichment.

  • Walks and activity levels are tailored to your dog’s age, health and energy levels.

  • Dogs are never left alone for long periods and are supervised appropriately at all times.

  • Where suitable, dogs may socialise with other compatible dogs in the home.

Your dog’s wellbeing, safety and emotional comfort are always our priority.

Settling in

Just like group walks, every dog settles at their own pace. Some dogs adjust immediately, while others may need a little time to feel comfortable. We introduce dogs gradually to their new environment and keep routines calm and predictable to help them settle.

If your dog shows signs of stress, we adjust routines accordingly to ensure they feel secure and supported.

What to bring for home boarding

To help your dog feel comfortable and reduce stress, please provide:

🐾 Your dog’s usual foodĀ (clearly labelled with feeding instructions)

🐾 Bed, blanket or item from home with a familiar scent

🐾 Harness, collar with ID tag and lead

🐾 Any medication, with clear written instructions

🐾 Treats (especially if your dog has dietary restrictions)

🐾 Favourite toy or enrichment item (optional but helpful)

Please ensure all items are clearly labelled.

Health, behaviour & suitability

For the safety and wellbeing of all dogs:

  • Dogs must be fully vaccinatedĀ (or titre tested where applicable)

  • Dogs must be friendly, non-aggressive and comfortable in a home environment

  • Any medical conditions, behavioural concerns or special requirements must be disclosed in advance

We reserve the right to decline or adjust boarding arrangements if home boarding is not suitable for a dog’s needs.

Communication & updates

We understand how important your dog is to you. During their stay, we aim to provide regular updatesĀ so you can relax knowing your dog is safe, settled and cared for.

A final note

Home boarding is a popular service and spaces are limited. We recommend booking well in advance, especially during peak holiday periods.

We are required by the council to have an alternative contact who can collect your dog if needed while you are away. Please ensure you have a suitable person for emergencies.

If you’re unsure whether home boarding is right for your dog, or would like to discuss your dog’s individual needs, please get in touch — we’re happy to help 🐾
