The Great Rover Ramble is a longer, more immersive group experience designed for dogs with energy to burn and a love for the outdoors. Think rolling fields, woodland trails, or wide-open spaces—where tails wag freely and noses lead the way.

Carefully matched with compatible companions, your dog will enjoy a relaxed, well-paced outing filled with play, exploration, and social connection. We allow the walk to unfold naturally, adapting to the weather, group dynamic, and individual needs to ensure a safe, fulfilling experience for all.

Our Walks: Enriching, Flexible, and Tailored to Your Dog’s Needs

At TLC K9, our walks aren’t run by the clock — they’re guided by the needs of the dogs. We don’t offer rigid time slots because our walks aren’t your typical on-lead strolls around the streets. Instead, we focus on giving your dog both physical exercise and vital mental stimulation.

Some of our walks take place in safe fields, but we don’t simply walk in circles. These sessions are packed with purpose — dogs are hunting for treats or toys, engaging in play, doing training exercises, and most importantly, getting the chance to sniff, explore, and be dogs. It’s far more than just a walk — it’s an experience.

We often use circular routes in natural settings too, where, wherever safe and appropriate, dogs can enjoy off-lead time. This allows for natural movement and choice-based engagement. Our aim is to avoid “learned helplessness,” where dogs are forced to walk like robots on a short lead with no freedom or mental stimulation.

Some walks may run slightly shorter or slightly longer depending on the group, the weather, the route and what the dogs need that day. Our priority is always quality over quantity — to make sure your dog comes home fulfilled, tired, and happy.

Any dog in Northowram and the surrounding mile gets a 50p discount. The advertised price is for further into Halifax Centre, Hipperholme, Queensbury, Boothtown, Wyke or Wibsey and 1 mile around.

Led by Tori Lynn Crowther, a qualified professional dog trainer, we bring both knowledge and compassion to every walk. All of our dog walkers are trained professionals, chosen for their experience, dedication, and love for dogs. This is our career, and we take pride in doing it properly.

We don’t walk large, impersonal packs. Our groups are small and carefully matched, ensuring every dog is with appropriate companions and can walk in a calm, safe, and enriching environment. Each walk is thoughtfully planned to suit the dogs' individual needs — whether that means gentle strolls, stimulating adventures, or mindful solo time.
